The people who come and see me, do so because they notice a certain problem or pattern that keeps returning in their lives, for example at work or in their relationships. Psychotherapy can help to make sense of these patterns and find ways to deal with them in a new, less troubling way.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process where we take stock of the issues and problem areas in your life currently. The focus of therapy is to contemplate your own thoughts and feelings, as well as the thoughts and feelings of others, and consider how these might impact your current situation. Events from the past which influence the present are also explored. This way, you are better able to see how you can improve your situation.
By better understanding yourself and others, you can lead a more enriching life and experience more pleasure at work, in your free time, and in your relationships.
During the initial intake phase, we explore your request for help and current living situation. Together we try to come to a good understanding of what is important for you to work on. We agree on the appropriate frequency of the sessions, taking into account your needs and possibilities. It is common to see each other weekly or biweekly. Depending on the process of the therapy, this can be adjusted. The number of sessions depends on the focus of the therapy and can be short-term or rather long-term.
Not sure if your request qualifies? Would you like more information or would you like to schedule an appointment? Please do not hesitate to contact us.
In 2017 I graduated as a clinical psychologist at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven). I currently work as a clinical psychologist at Brussels Mental Health Center and also at KLIPP, a center for people with personality disorders at the UPC KULeuven in Kortenberg. I have several years of experience with Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT) and use this framework as inspiration for individual psychotherapy. In 2020 I enrolled in the postgraduate program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the KU Leuven, and will graduate from it in 2024.

Changes regarding appointments must be made at least 48 hours (2 full working days) in advance, through Marjolein or the secretary. This allows us to use the spot for other patients who may require urgent care. If this delay is not respected, the full cost of the consultation will be charged for the late cancellation or missed consultation.
