Sometimes there are times in life when you feel like you’re stuck or you’ve been struggling with yourself for a long time and find that you can’t get out on your own. Psychotherapy may then be appropriate. Examples of help questions for which you can come to me: it’s getting too much for you, you don’t feel good about yourself but you don’t really understand why, you encounter difficulties in contact with others, you notice that certain patterns keep repeating themselves but you don’t know how to change this…

There are roughly four major schools within psychotherapy: cognitive behavioural therapy, psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, systemic therapy, and client-centred psychotherapy. I am a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, working within the client-centred framework. In my practice, your experience is central — we work at your pace, with attention to your emotions, experiences, and needs.
Together, we explore where you feel stuck and what is needed to get blocked processes moving again. Therapy focuses not only on complaints, but also on your strengths and potential for growth. You get to know yourself more deeply and connect with your emotions and needs, so you can make authentic choices that truly suit you.
A key aspect of this process is your willingness to adopt a reflective, curious attitude toward yourself. Therapy invites you to pause and explore what lives within you. Together, we look for ways to better navigate your vulnerabilities and the challenges life presents — so that you can continue to handle them even after therapy has ended.
Within this framework, I work with Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) — an experiential method that focuses on regulating, deepening, and processing emotions. EFT helps identify stuck patterns, work through emotional blockages, and develop new ways of connecting with yourself and others.
Therapy is not a linear path with ready-made answers. I don’t offer advice, but invite you to explore what lives within you. We examine what you feel, what you need, and what holds you back. Change takes time, patience, and courage. It can be confronting and painful before it becomes lighter — but it is precisely in that vulnerability that space arises for growth, connection, and healing.
A vital part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. The quality of the connection between client and therapist often determines the depth and progress of the process. I place great value on how our contact unfolds and will regularly check in with you about how you experience the therapy, so we can adjust where needed.
In our first session, we focus on your concerns and life context. Together, we aim to gain a clear understanding of what is important for you to work on. We also discuss expectations and decide whether we want to embark on this process together.
In later phases, we delve deeper into meaningful themes in your life. It may happen that we move beyond the initial question — this is part of the process of deepening and growth.
The frequency of sessions is agreed upon together, based on your needs and possibilities. Weekly or biweekly sessions are common, as they allow us to work more intensively with your process. This rhythm can be adjusted as therapy evolves.
The number of sessions depends on your needs and can range from short-term to long-term. Throughout the process, we regularly reflect on how therapy is progressing.
In 2013, I graduated as a clinical psychologist from the Catholic University of Leuven. Meanwhile, I work as an independent clinical psychologist and have worked as a volunteer psychologist for TEJO Brussels and Handicap International Belgium. In 2021, I started the specialization in client-centered psychotherapy at KU Leuven to further expand my professional knowledge and working framework. In 2025, after an intensive four-year training at the Catholic University of Leuven, I graduated as a client-centered psychotherapist to further expand my professional knowledge and therapeutic framework. In this training, I was also intensively trained in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).
From my own personal search, I know how exciting it can be to take the step to psychological counseling and that change takes courage and time. Therefore, I hope to be able to bring my clients closer to themselves and help them (re)discover what makes life truly meaningful and fulfilling. In my free time, I prefer to go out with my dog and find relaxation in good books and movies, good food and socializing with friends.
