It is often said that people do not change—and in a sense, that’s reassuring. At their core, people remain the same. I believe that psychotherapy is not about changing who we are; it is about discovering our true self, embracing it, and letting go of what does not truly belong to us. Therapy is ultimately a journey toward our most authentic selves.
My journey as a psychologist-psychotherapist began with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), one of the most scientifically supported forms of therapy. However, I soon realized that while CBT is effective, it doesn’t always address deeper questions about life, such as meaning and purpose, authenticity, uncertainty, and alike.
Over the past decade, I have delved into Existential and humanistic psychotherapy, embracing a more holistic and client-centered approach to better understand the lived experiences of clients and myself.
When words alone are not enough to express thoughts and feelings, I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to provide an alternative path to healing.
Drawing inspiration from these therapies, I tailor my approach to each person I work with, focusing on what could be the most helpful in one’s unique situation at a given moment.
