Brussels Mental Health Center is a multilingual outpatient practice in Schaerbeek (Plasky and Schuman) and Ixelles (Flagey), a short walk from the European Quarter. Our recognised psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists work with expats, staff of the European institutions and NATO, and other international professionals. You can have your sessions in English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Russian, German, Lithuanian or Catalan, so you never have to search for words in a language that is not your own.

Life abroad rarely stands still, and your care should be able to move with you. Besides seeing us at the practice, you can also have follow-up sessions by video, within the applicable regulations. So if a new posting or a return home takes you away from Brussels, you do not have to leave your clinician behind. Where the regulations allow, you simply keep working online with the person who already knows your story. And if you arrive in Brussels while already in treatment elsewhere, we will look together at how to pick things up without starting from scratch.

If you have private health insurance, you are welcome too. You do not need a referral to book. You will receive a dated invoice or certificate of care with your clinician’s name, professional title and RIZIV/INAMI, ComPsy, visa or other licence number, which you send to your insurer yourself. What is reimbursed, and how, is up to your insurer, including video sessions and treatment continued from abroad, so it is worth checking your policy before you start. If your scheme asks for prior authorisation or a psychiatrist’s prescription for psychotherapy, we know how it works and will help you through it.
